Rubik Cube Solve is the publisher of these free puzzle tools and guides. The site helps you solve a cube, understand the moves and practice them with diagrams and animations. We publish under the site name. We do not credit a personal author, claim competition results or present an AI system as a human cuber.
How the Tools Work
The 3x3 solver uses a two-phase search: it first reaches a restricted group of positions, then finishes the solve using a smaller set of moves. The approach is described by Herbert Kociemba. Our implementation runs in a background worker in your browser. The colors you enter do not need to be sent to a remote solver.
The 2x2 solver and Pyraminx solver use complete distance tables for their modeled positions. The 4x4 and 5x5 tools use reduction: solve centers and pair edges, then solve the reduced 3x3. The timer uses our own scramblers. They are practice tools, not the WCA's official TNoodle program.
What We Check
The 3x3 correctness run solved and replay-checked 10,000 random positions. Solutions averaged 19.85 moves, with a longest solution of 22 moves in that run. These are measured test results, not a claim that every possible position was tested. Phone performance is a separate benchmark and remains unverified until a valid result is recorded on a real phone.
Our algorithm checks compare case diagrams with their starting positions, replay moves and check that the required layers stay solved. Recognition and holding instructions are tested against the relevant enumerated positions. A build check keeps unfinished or blocked pages out of the production site.
Sources and Editorial Review
Algorithm sets are credited to their sources, including J Perm and SpeedCubeDB. Named algorithms and common move sequences are shared cubing knowledge; source credit does not imply that those creators endorse this site. Our explanations and practice notes are written for this site with AI assistance.
Automated correctness and AI editorial review are different from hands-on review by a cuber. They can check a sequence's effect, but cannot establish how it feels in someone's hands. Fingertrick suggestions are starting points to try slowly, not claims of an optimal grip. Machine-generated F2L choices and the full OLL/PLL/F2L alternative selections remain unpublished until the required human comfort review is recorded.
We do not mark a review as complete just because a page has enough words. Corrections to recognition, move direction or setup are backed by regression checks. A technical sign-off records the code and text that were checked; it does not create personal credentials or a human endorsement.
